Connect MyClawBots to Claude and ChatGPT
MyClawBots runs an MCP server. Once you connect it, Claude or ChatGPT can read your social accounts, draft and publish posts, answer comments and pull analytics — using the accounts you have already connected here, with the permissions you choose.
The connector URL:
https://mcp.myclawbots.ai/mcpAdding the connector
Claude (web and desktop)
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL above, and click Add. Claude opens a MyClawBots tab where you sign in and choose what to allow. When you come back, the connector is live and the tools are listed.
Connectors are attached to your Claude account, so adding it on the web is enough — you do not add it a second time in the desktop app.
Claude Code
One command, then authenticate from inside a session:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user myclawbots https://mcp.myclawbots.ai/mcp/mcp → myclawbots → AuthenticateUse --scope user. This is a connector for your personal account, not a dependency of one repository, and a user-scoped entry follows you between projects. (Run claude mcp add --help if you want the full list of scopes for your version.)
ChatGPT
Add MyClawBots from the ChatGPT connector directory, or — if you have developer mode enabled — add the URL above directly. Sign in with your MyClawBots account when prompted.
One thing to know before you start: in ChatGPT, media has to be a public HTTPS URL. ChatGPT cannot hand a file from your computer to a tool, so the staged-upload flow that works in Claude Code does not work there. Text posts and posts with a public image URL work exactly the same in both.
A connector's authentication cannot be changed after it is added. If you added MyClawBots with an API key (below) and you now want to sign in instead, you have to remove the connector and add it again. There is no setting that switches it in place.
Connecting with an API key instead
The same server also accepts an API key, which is useful for scripts, CI, and agents that have no browser to sign in with. Create one in Settings → API & MCP Access, then:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user myclawbots https://mcp.myclawbots.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"Keep this one user-scoped. A project-scoped entry is written into a .mcp.json file in the repository, and this command puts a live key in the header — which means committing the key. Use --scope user whenever a header carries a secret.
An API key is one credential with full access to your accounts. Signing in gives you the permission checkboxes, a record of what connected and when, and a revoke button — so prefer it unless you specifically need a key.
What each permission grants
When you sign in, the app asks for a set of permissions and you can uncheck any of them. You can always grant less than the app asked for; you cannot grant more.
Read your accounts and analytics social:read
Which accounts are connected, your recent posts, post and account insights, the comments on your posts, Threads mentions and searches, and public data about Pages and profiles you do not own. Your Instagram and Facebook Page DM automations, DM settings and DM playbook, with automation stats. Never the content of a direct message.
Publish posts and upload media social:publish
Create posts on your connected accounts (including Threads quotes and reposts) and stage images and video for them. This is the permission that puts content on your feed. Set up and edit Instagram and Facebook Page DM automations and the DM playbook your MyClawBots agent answers from, and turn DM automation off. New automations are created off, and playbook changes wait for your review. Your MyClawBots agent sends the replies; the app cannot read or send your DMs.
Reply to and hide comments social:moderate
Post replies under your brand's name and hide other people's comments on your posts. Hiding is reversible; the person who wrote the comment can still see it. Turn Instagram and Facebook Page DM automations on and choose how your MyClawBots agent replies to DMs, which lets MyClawBots message your customers as your brand.
Delete posts and comments social:delete
Permanently remove published posts and comments. This is separate from the other permissions because it is the only one that cannot be undone — you can grant publishing without granting deletion. Delete Instagram and Facebook Page DM automations.
It can set up and manage your Instagram and Facebook Page DM automations, but it cannot read or send your DMs: your MyClawBots agent does the replying. A connection made before DM automation tools were added does not see them: disconnect and reconnect the app once to allow it.
You can also limit a connection to specific accounts. By default a connection covers every account you have connected, including ones you add later — pick "limit to specific accounts" on the sign-in screen if you would rather it did not.
These permission names never change meaning. New ones may be added, but an existing one is never redefined or removed — otherwise a connection you approved a year ago could quietly come to mean something you did not agree to. If a permission genuinely has to change, it becomes a new name and every affected connection has to be approved again.
The tools
Eighteen tools, grouped by the permission each one needs. A connection that was not granted a permission gets a clear refusal when it tries to use one of those tools — it does not silently do nothing.
Reading social:read
Read-only — these never change anything.
list_social_accountsThe connected accounts. Every other tool needs an id from here. A Pinterest account also lists the boards you can pin to.
get_recent_postsRecent posts with captions, timestamps and engagement counts. On Pinterest, your own Pins, without counts.
get_post_insightsViews, reach, likes, comments, shares and saves for one post. On Pinterest, your own Pins' counts, where Pinterest provides them.
get_account_insightsAccount-level followers, reach and impressions. On Pinterest, follower, Pin and board counts.
get_post_commentsThe comments on one of your posts, with replies nested. On LinkedIn, any post from its link.
search_public_pagesSearch public Facebook Pages by name, for competitor research.
get_public_page_metricsCompare up to ten public Facebook Pages side by side.
search_threadsSearch public Threads posts by keyword or tag.
get_threads_mentionsPublic Threads posts that mention your account.
lookup_threads_profileLook up a public Threads profile by exact username.
list_dm_automationsYour Instagram or Facebook Page DM automations, whether each is on, and their stats. Never a customer's message.
get_dm_statsDM automation totals over the last days, per account and per automation: triggered, sent, links, clicks and click rate. Counts only.
get_dm_settingsWhether DM automation is on for an account, and how your MyClawBots agent handles DMs no automation answers.
get_playbookWhat your agent knows about your business for one DM account — the playbook DM replies are answered from.
Publishing social:publish
Writes to your accounts. Claude asks you to confirm before calling these.
post_to_socialPublish a post to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn (profiles and company Pages), X, YouTube, TikTok or Pinterest (image Pins to one of your boards).
create_upload_urlStage a local file for posting without the bytes entering the conversation.
upload_mediaStage a small image inline, when the file only exists in the conversation.
repost_on_threadsRepost someone's Threads post to your profile. Undo it with delete_post on the returned repost id.
comment_on_postComment on a LinkedIn post as you, from its link.
edit_commentChange the text of a LinkedIn comment you wrote.
like_postLike or react to a LinkedIn post or comment as you, or remove it. Reversible.
edit_postChange a Pinterest Pin you published: its description, title, link, alt text or AI label, or move it to another of your boards. The image or video cannot be changed.
edit_boardRename one of your Pinterest boards or change its description. Its privacy cannot be changed.
create_dm_automationDraft a Instagram or Facebook Page DM automation (a comment keyword or DM keyword trigger and the reply). It is always created off.
update_dm_automationChange a DM automation, or turn it on or off. Turning one on also needs the moderating permission.
update_dm_settingsTurn DM automation on or off for an account and choose how your agent replies: off, with your approval, or on its own. Turning DMs or agent replies on also needs the moderating permission.
save_playbookSave that playbook after you confirm it in chat. The change waits for your review in MyClawBots before your agent uses it.
Moderating social:moderate
Writes publicly under your brand's name.
reply_to_commentReply to a comment on your Facebook or Instagram post, or to any LinkedIn comment as you.
hide_commentHide or unhide a Facebook or Instagram comment. Reversible.
hide_replyHide or unhide a reply on your Threads post. Reversible.
Deleting social:delete
Irreversible. Nothing here has an undo or a trash state.
delete_postPermanently delete a post you published, including your own LinkedIn posts. Includes your own Pinterest Pins.
delete_commentPermanently delete a comment on your post, or a LinkedIn comment you wrote.
delete_dm_automationPermanently delete a DM automation.
Agent-only
Listed only to agents running on MyClawBots, never to Claude or ChatGPT connectors.
list_secretsAgents running on MyClawBots can list the API keys saved for them (names, hosts, where to put them, surrogate tokens — never values). Not available to connectors.
list_dm_conversationsAgents can list recent Instagram DM conversations on accounts with DM automation on. Not available to connectors.
get_dm_threadAgents can read one Instagram DM thread before replying. Not available to connectors.
send_dmAgents can reply once to someone who messaged the account first, inside Instagram's 24-hour window. Not available to connectors.
Revoking access
Go to Settings → Connected apps. Every app you have signed in to is listed there with what it can do, which accounts it covers, and when it was last used. Press Revoke.
Revoking takes effect on that app's very next request. There is no window where an already-issued token keeps working, because every request is checked against the live record rather than against something signed an hour ago.
Removing the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT usually revokes it here too, but that depends on the app. If you want to be certain — a lost laptop, an app you no longer trust — revoke it in Connected apps. That is the record that decides.
Revoking a connection does not disconnect your social accounts, and disconnecting a social account in Settings immediately removes it from every connector without touching the connections themselves.
When something is wrong
It connected, but every tool returns nothing
Almost always: no social accounts are connected to your MyClawBots account yet, or this connection was limited to accounts that have since been removed. Connect an account in Settings — a connection that covers "all accounts" picks it up with no further action.
A tool says the account needs reconnecting
Facebook Page and LinkedIn access expires and cannot be renewed in the background. Reconnect that account in Settings; the connector picks the new token up immediately and does not need to be re-added. A LinkedIn company Page reconnects through the LinkedIn Pages card, not the personal LinkedIn one, and may renew in the background when LinkedIn issues a refresh token. Pinterest renews its access in the background on its own; if a Pinterest connection goes unused for about 60 days, reconnect it through the Pinterest card.
Claude Code is using the wrong entry
If the same server name exists at more than one scope, one entry wins outright — they are not merged. Remove the one you are not using with claude mcp remove rather than editing both. This is the usual explanation for "I authenticated but it is still using my old API key."
It asks to publish something you did not ask for
Deny it, and revoke the connection in Connected apps. Publishing tools are marked so that Claude asks before it calls them — that prompt is there to be used.
Privacy and support
What the connector can see, what leaves MyClawBots, and how long we keep it is in the Privacy Policy. Terms are here. Your social account passwords and access tokens are never shared with Claude, ChatGPT, or any other connected app — every call to a social platform is made server-side by MyClawBots.
